Underground Trip to a Doe Run
Company Lead Mine
1. This Trip will be a collecting trip to One of Doe Runs
Underground Lead
Mines in Southeast
Missouri to collect galena, calcite, chalcopyrite etc. In
addition to the
collecting trip there may
be a trip through concentrating plant
where they crush and concentrate the lead ore.
2. Time and date of Trip: This trip will leave from the Show site in
Queeny Park
on Friday, August
19, 2005 at 7:00 AM
3.Cost and means of travel: This trip will be by private car
and because of the
cost of gasoline it is suggested that one vehicle take
several people. If that is the
case it is suggested that that person be reimbursed at least $5.00 for
each
person in their vehicle. Because this an area of limited eating facilities there will
be
sack lunch provided. The cost of the trip and lunch is $15.00
The distance
to the Iron County collecting site is approximately 115 Miles
of which about
45
miles of it is two lane Ozark hills road. The rest of it is four lane
Interstat
road.
4.Limited space on trip: Because this is an underground trip
the Doe Run
company is limiting the
the number of people it will allow on this trip. Only 30
people will be
allowed, and because of this
it is strongly suggested that you get
your request form in as soon as
possible. This trip is on a first come first serve
basis.
